CAR sent five lucky readers and forum users passes to give them access to the international media day on Tuesday 3 March 2009. We tasked them with blogging on the goings-on during press day – and to deliver their verdict on the key cars and themes of the Geneva motor show 2009. So what did the competition winners think?
In early December, the finalist entries from the CDN/GM Interactive Design Competition were put in front of the panel of judges from General Motors and Car Design News to determine the four winners of this year's internships with GM. This year, once again, the level of work was exceptional and made for a very difficult selection. We also saw the largest number of participants and entries ever, raising the stakes of an already highly competitive field.
Our friends at Bring a Trailer are offering a gorgeous unrestored 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Normale. The 65,000-mile California car is claimed to be “one of the most original 101-series Giulietta Sprints in existence today with all-original interior, mostly original paint, perfect gauges, factory engine-compartment components, no accidents, and straight chrome and trim.”
Curiously, the engine and transmission were removed and rebuilt in 1975 but were never reinstalled. The car is now available in Monterey, Calif., for $23,500, so visit Bring a Trailer to get in touch with the seller and to view a lot more photos.
